The University of Mississippi Green Fund Committee is now accepting applications for an open student position on their team. This is a great opportunity to get involved and play a meaningful role in the sustainability efforts on campus.
The UM Green Fund Committee is made up of students, faculty and staff. The committee is looking for a dedicated, motivated and creative student to fill the open role. Students on committee have the responsibility of implementing the Green Fund outreach plan, evaluating project proposals and working with project proposers and UM Office of Sustainability staff to implement selected projects.
The UM Green Fund Committee provides funding for the implementation of sustainability projects and programs in topical areas ranging from waste reduction to energy efficiency. Any UM student, faculty or staff member can propose a project. Since 2013, the UM Green Fund Committee has awarded more than $45,000 to fund projects including the UM Compost Program, native plant installations, a series of campus farmers markets and more.
